What Are Galvanized Iron (GI) Pipes?
Galvanized iron pipes are mild steel pipes coated with a protective layer of zinc through hot-dip galvanizing. This zinc coating shields the steel from rust and corrosion, giving GI pipes a service life of 25 to 50 years even in high-humidity and coastal environments.
Crack-resistant and sturdy, GI products come in round, square and rectangular tubes — widely used for structural work in high-humidity regions, greenhouse structures, and agricultural systems including water pumping and irrigation.
Also known as GP pipes, galvanized iron pipes are hot-dip galvanized to IS 1239 and IS 1161 standards, available in light, medium and heavy classes to match wall thickness to your load and pressure needs.

How GI Pipes Are Made — Hot-Dip Galvanizing
